Kiva allows me to make a personal connections with amazing entrepreneurs around the globe to not only support their business through funds but be a global cheerleader and feel inspired personally as I follow them along the path of their own business triumphs and challenges.
About me:
As a Kiva Fellow serving in Manipur, India with the field partner, WSDS, I am in for an awakening of sorts every day. In only a week into my fellowship, I have met over 50+ women, visited different tribal villages and heard stories about how their life (and family's life) have improved because of their Kiva loan. I quite my corporate job in NYC to do this fellowship and every single second I am thankful for the choices that has led me down this path to bear witness to these tenacious, hard-working and "quite jolly" women.

Bio:
Eileen is a Californian by birth, a New Yorker by choice, and a global citizen by destiny. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine. She has worked in the technology sector for over 18 years in interactive marketing and business development. Her first job after college was to set up the “World Wide Web” for the Mexican Tourism Board - which meant monthly trips to Baja building websites for small businesses and tech tutorials between scuba dives. Here, her passion for using technology in the advancement of global development and social entrepreneurship was born. Over the years, Eileen has managed customer acquisition & retention channels, product launches, advertising and promotional efforts, strategic growth and partnerships, and has also been involved with several volunteer projects addressing global education in girls and human trafficking - but has always dreamed of contributing in a more impactful way. For this reason, she could not be more excited to become a Kiva Fellow and support the launch of Kiva India! In her spare time, Eileen also moonlights as a photographer and loves the art of a compelling story.
