I loan because:
After travelling to many places around the world I see that there are many, many people who genuinely need help, not a handout. They're hard working people that need a helping hand. It's a small amount by our standards but it helps jumping over a huge hurdle for recipients of these loans.
About me:
I'm a banker, having worked at the same company for for nearly 40 years. I've made many a home loan and helped people to get into their first home. Although our lending standards are quite different from what we see on KIVA, I feel it's making a difference in their lives.
