I loan because:
Loaning money to others in the world and for various causes is, for me, an I’ll-meet-you-halfway token to the universe. I wish the world were a certain way—respectful of the environment, for example, and free from poverty—and it only seems fair that I put my money where my values are. When deciding where to give, I let myself be guided by what matters to me intuitively. There are other crises in the world that I am not helping out with. It makes me feel a little powerless.
