I loan because:
I'm fortunate enough to have the ability set some money aside for this and the multiplier effect, from both financial and social perspectives, is huge. It's also way too cool that repayments of previous loans, from people all over the world, can fund a new loan for someone else all by themselves. I think it's just awesome that an initial downpayment of loans can set off a continuous cycle that allows people to grow their businesses, support their families and, in the meantime, enable someone else on the other end of the earth to do the same, just by paying the loan back.
About me:
I'm getting a graduate degree in social entrepreneurship - learning how to use business skills and tools to make a difference in the world.
