I loan because:
I care about the world and its people, but not about politicians, nor big organizations (because every big organizaton will succumb to bureaucracy and corruption, -including- care organizations!). I believe microcrediting activities like Kiva will relieve the urgent need for (small) investments in lesser developed countries, trickling down to the wealth, health and welfare of entrepreneurs and their families around the world.
About me:
My job is much less essential for my survival than the jobs of the Kiva recipients.
