I loan because:
I was blessed enough to have been able to travel all around the world. A commonality I saw everywhere is how essential small businesses are to the economic well-being of the communities and countries as a whole. If we could loan out a fraction of what we spend in a month on ourselfs then the world would change in our generation for the better
About me:
After really finding a soul mate in Kiva's principles I have decided to apply to the Kiva Fellows Programme and am delighted they accepted me. I am now off to Washington DC to work on their exciting new Kiva Zip Pilot

Bio:
Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Christina lived in Vancouver for many years before moving to London, where she works as a Business Analyst and Project Manager in areas as diverse as Media, Oil Trading and the Prison Service. Sharing a love of travel and photography with her photojournalist husband, she travels as much as possible, preferably on long, slow, overland trips such as the ten-month honeymoon drive from Vancouver to El Salvador and back. On a previous trip, she became acquainted with the marginalized tribes of Gujarat in India, and recognized how micro-financing helped people on the fringes of society. After trying to build her own charity in helping and working with the tribes, she found a soulmate in Kiva's principles. After applying to the Kiva Fellows Program, she and her husband received joyous news that they are expecting their first child next year - and so, in addition to her work as a Kiva Zip Fellow, Christina will be working on creating a future Kiva Lender.
