- I loan because:
- I immigrated here with my family when I was 8 years old. We didn't have a lot growing up and we bounced around from state to state and city to city living with other families, sometimes in cramped and roach infested apartments.
Growing up, people use to tell me all the time that I couldn't do this or I couldn't do that. But they were wrong. When I joined the work force, all it took was one person to believe in me to set me on the path that has taken me to where I am today. I just needed an opportunity, and when that day came I did everything I could to maximize it. There is nothing special or unique about me or my story. Kiva is full of people that are motivated and believe in themselves, just like me. People that aren't asking for handouts, but asking others to believe in them.
The money that I'm lending here doesn't mean a lot to me, and its better used to provide an opportunity for someone else to better themselves and better their families. All we can ask for is an opportunity to do what we believe we can do. I am happy to help provide opportunities and I hope to do much more in the future.
