I loan because:: I want to help a hard-working person in challenging circumstances help himself or herself succeed in a livelihood. As actor Kevin Spacey has said, "I want to send the elevator back down" [to help someone else rise to success]. Putting it another way, I like to "pay it forward." It makes the world a better place, one action at a time. And what a great memorial it makes too--helping someone help themselves to making a better life for themselves, their families, and their communities!
