Kiva Fellow Prev: Guardianship & Trust manager
I loan because:
I believe access to credit can be a driving force in entrepreneurial activity and skill development. These can lead to better living standards for all. I further appreciate the opportunity to "invest" in real people as opposed to corporations which have seemed to thrive on a lack of transparency in recent years.
About me:
I have worked in as a small business consultant, non-profit controller, and fiduciary manager for guardianships and trusts. In the winter of 2009 I worked with Edpyme Alternativa as a Kiva Fellow. Currently I am an MBA candidate.

Bio:
Casey Unrein is a graduate of the Los Angeles based Occidental College. He has a BA in Economics for Business Management and a minor in Education. After graduation, Casey moved to Seattle where he joined the fiduciary services company Partners In Care and quickly became a Financial Manager and the Investment Coordinator. With Partners In Care Casey worked one-on-one with a large range of professionals including attorneys, accountants, investment advisors, and care managers to ensure that clients were properly served and their assets prudently managed. He also played an integral role in developing internal systems for investment management and quality control. The experience with Partners In Care taught Casey the value of organization and internal control and he therefore dedicated his free time to completing the necessary course work to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam. Casey is currently scheduled to become a CPA in late 2010. Casey has traveled to many parts of both North and South America. He is proficient in Spanish and looks forward to increasing his skills in a business setting. Casey hopes to gain an in depth understanding of the Peruvian finance industry while working with Edpyme Alternativa and lend his professional skills to the development of their institution.
