- Originally from Edison, NJ, Carrie graduated with a Computer Science degree from Penn before working and traveling throughout Europe for a year, then spending two years day trading equities for her own account. Because she was self employed, she was able to take time between busy trading seasons to continue traveling, and backpacked for months at a time throughout Asia, Central America and East Africa. In 2006 she moved to New York and became one of the first employees of YellowJacket, a small technology venture that over the next four years expanded to become the leading off-exchange network and trading platform for the global energy industry. After spending last summer living and working on an organic farm in rural Virginia, she is thrilled to be heading to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, to connect with farmers and other small business owners in the region. Carrie is inspired by Kiva and the entrepreneurs it supports, and is excited to be a part of its mission going forward.
