Bio:: Carrie currently works as Outreach Coordinator at a small company in Seattle that diverts reusable building materials from the landfill. She also plays an active role in the community and serves as president of her neighborhood association, which is working to build a community center and park. Before moving to the Pacific Northwest, she spent a few years working for a small non-profit in Washington DC that promoted political and economic rights in Guatemala. Her other international experience includes studying and working in Bolivia and a 4.5 month bike trip through Europe, in addition to short trips to Central America and the Balkans. Carrie believes strongly in the power of communities to organize and promote their own development .
