Bio:
Caree was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado. She pursued a degree in Illustration, only to discover upon completion of her studies, that she did not truly enjoy this line of work. Seeking a career with deeper satisfaction, Caree ventured out to see the world through an English teaching position in Japan. Through this position and travels throughout South East Asia, she uncovered a passion for communication and bridging cultural divides that she didn’t know she had. She altered her career to match her new mission. Since returning to Colorado 6 years ago, Caree has been working in the non-profit sector, teaching English, job readiness and GED to immigrants, refugees, and single mothers transitioning off of government assistance. Now thoroughly enjoying her work, Caree would like to return to school to obtain a Master’s in International Policy starting in June, 2011. Micro-finance as a means to realizing self-sufficiency is an area of great interest to Caree and she is ecstatic to be joining Kiva and supporting their mission with entrepreneurs in Armenia.
