- About me:
- I work in community development for a mid-sized city just outside of Milwaukee, WI. In my spare time I try and assist neighborhood non-profit groups specifically by providing them with technology that allows them to get a better 'spatial' sense of what is happening in their community. This is done by providing these groups with the ability to create customized digital maps on the Internet (Geographic Information Systems or GIS) that they can use to track positive and negative trends in the areas where they live. I view GIS as a means of developing more informed/more empowered neighborhood leaders since the technology allows them access to information they can easily synthesize, digest and take action on.
