- I was on the receiving end of a tremendous amount of charity following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Most notably from my fellow supporters of Celtic FC throughout the world. I discovered Kiva through the Global Hoops Celtic Supporters Club. As Celtic FC was formed in 1888 with the goal of alleviating poverty in Glasgow's East End, it makes sense for Celtic supporters to try an do what they can to help others.
