Amy-Kyleen has long had a passion for exploring developing countries and building relationships with the people she encounters on her adventures. While attending Boston College to attain her undergraduate degree in Economics, Middle Eastern Studies and Theology, she considered the intersection of culture and religion as it impacts economic development. During this time, Amy-Kyleen spent seven months in the Middle East participating in a regional studies and intensive Arabic program in Amman, Jordan and, subsequently, working for a Palestinian non-governmental organization which promotes active nonviolence and democracy in Palestinian communities. Given her love for the region and people, the opportunity to return to be a Kiva Fellow in Jordan is very exciting! She is looking forward to working for a sustainable, local and impactful method of international development.
