Bio:
For over 7 years, Alba worked for various banks in the mortgage industry. With the goal of making a drastic career change to a field more in line with her interests, Alba enrolled in graduate school and has since worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce during the 2010 Census, and more recently for the Yale School of Medicine as a Research Associate. She will complete her Master's Degree in Global Development and Peace in May of 2012. Traveling is one of Alba’s greatest hobbies. Her travels have taken her to Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Belize, Cuba, Northern Ireland, Switzerland, and a number of times to Ecuador (her native country). Alba's passion lies in human development and the empowerment of women in developing countries as a means to poverty reduction. She is excited about the Kiva Fellowship and is looking forward to the experiences and knowledge it will bring.
