Bio:
Adam joins Kiva after working for nearly a decade in the development of customer-facing functionality at Expedia, Inc. Aside from enjoying the creation of tools to help others travel, Adam also enjoyed making use of those tools and managed to visit over 30 countries during his tenure at Expedia. An avid photographer and occasional blogger, Adam noticed that his vacations over the years tended to consist largely of time spent in villages just chatting with shopkeepers and laborers, learning about their lives and their challenges. After all of his trips, Adam loans to businesspeople in the cities he has visited, through Kiva. When a friend and former colleague joined the 13th Kiva Fellows Class, Adam realized that this would be the perfect opportunity to help out shopkeepers and small business owners in a very direct way, while also learning more about microfinance and simultaneously satisfying his wanderlust for a while longer. Adam is excited to relocate to Kigali, Rwanda, where he will partner with Urwego Opportunity Bank of Rwanda and Vision Finance Company. Adam is looking forward to learning about the field of microfinance in-depth, as well as get an in-depth perspective on life in another country.
