Victoria is a 52-year-old divorced mother of five children. She is a local manufacturer of palm kernel oil. Palm kernel oil is produced from palm kernel, which is a by-product of palm oil. The palm kernel is processed through various stages to obtain the palm kernel oil which is used to prepare many local dishes like fried fish and pastries. Victoria produces and supplies palm kernel oil to local food vendors. She also sells Fanti kenkey and homemade loaves of bread. She has been in this business for five years now. Her production is low because she does not have the capital to buy a processing machine and does everything manually. She wants to use the loan to buy seventy bags of palm kernel and an electric milling machine to help produce her oil in larger quantities. She believes the loan will enable her to save more money toward her children's educations. She belongs to a village bank called ‘Yesu Abusua Kuo’ which means God’s family.
