Khem K. H. is 29 years old and a resident of Kompong Cham Province, Cambodia, where she grows rice and vegetable crops. She collects her mature produce and sells to her buyer four times a year. She gains income to help meet her family's foods needs.
She is married with three children who are single and go to school. Her husband assists her in the farming business. K. has requested a loan in order to support her business activities. She will use the loan to buy seeds and to rent a cultivating machine for plowing farmland.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
