Lino C. lives in a rented house in the zone of "las Delicias" ["the Delights"], a hill north of the city of La Paz. He lives with his wife, Elizabeth Valdez.
Lino works as a food critic, attending in particular social gatherings. His wife is a housewife. With his savings, Lino was able to buy a plot of land in the city of El Alto, a city to the west of La Paz.
The loan that Lino is requesting is for the contruction of two new rooms on his property. This is the first time that he has asked for a loan. The socioeconomic analysis that was performed favorably qualified him so that he can access credit.

IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.
To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
