A loan of $2,525 helped to purchase a car and start serving local people.

Rapail's story

Rapail, a 31-year-old, married man, lives in the village Ponichala. He is a hairstylist and also has a small agribusiness, growing and selling greens at the local market. He has two children, a wife and parents.

The family's living condition is poor, and because of that, Rapail decided to be involved in another business. He sought credit among local financial institutions, but his attempts were unsuccessful because of his poor living conditions.

The startup program that is a joint initiative between Kiva and Credo enables rural poor people to get a loan for starting or re-starting businesses. His application was approved under the framework of this program to get a loan of 6,000 GEL.

Rapail will purchase a second-hand car and will start serving local people as a taxi driver. The new business will become the significant source of income for the family, and Rapail will meet all family expenses more easily. He awaits support and kindness.
