Anecita D. is a resident of Bagakay, Sibutad, in the province of Zamboanga del Norte. She is 50 years old, married and blessed with one kid. She has a small Sari-Sari Store at her residence which started from a little capital. She's been a member of Paglaum under the microfinance program and has made use of the credit services for her Sari-Sari Store. At present she is applying for a loan to buy additional inventories of canned goods, bottled items and basic commodities.
Anecita smiles at the thought of owning a mini grocery store someday.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
