Him V., 34, is married and lives with three of her children in the Siem Reap province. She and her husband are farmers who typically make about US$4 each day. Two of her children are in school and one is too young to attend. Him V. is asking for a loan of US$700 to purchase fertilizer, fishing nets and a motorbike. With the fishing nets, her husband can go fishing sometimes; the family will use the motorbike for transportation to reduce their daily expenses. She is confident that this loan will allow her to increase her daily income and to better support her family.
