Lorenza is a native member of the rural community of Ccolcca, in the province of Quispicanchi-Ocongate, which is located 3,900 meters above sea level. It is 4 hours by bus from the city of Cusco, Peru.

She is 41 years old, married, with 3 children who are 19, 18 and 14 years old. She earns a living by farming (she grows potatoes, peas and other vegetables) and raising animals (she buys cows for milking and fattens them up). She sells her vegetables and products at the local market. She walks for one hour from her village to a bridge that connects the area with another village, where she can use public transportation to get to the town of Ocongate.

She is grateful for the loan—she knows very well that her community does not have easy access to a financial institution—and she is committed to using the loan in a good way and making the established payments.
