Mr. Channra Y., 43, and his wife, Mrs. Nary Sin, 37, live along the number one national road, about 20 kilometers from Phnom Penh. They were married in 1986 and have six children: three sons and three daughters. One of their sons works in a plywood factory, two daughters work in a garment factory, and the other three children attend school.
Channra has been driving a taxi for nineteen years, taking people to beautiful locations. Besides being a taxi driver, he is also a fisherman. His wife stays at home to take care of their children. Channra’s car was damaged, which disrupted his business. He is asking for his first loan of $1,000 to make repairs to his taxi, purchase an outboard motor for his fishing business, and to build a new kitchen for his home.
