Ussif Sharif

Ussif Sharif is married and the father of three children, all females. He is thirty-eight years old. His first born child is in senior high school, and the others are in the primary school. He lives with his family in a rented apartment in a commercial town called Bekwai, close to Obuasi (a gold mining town) in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The majority of the inhabitants of Bekwai are into commercial activities. Ussif is a tailor by profession.

He buys fabrics and accessories from Kumasi and sews for retail sale. He procures the materials and sews for people who place an order, but he does not charge a deposit. His shop is situated right at the main entrance of the local market square. As a result, Ussif says he wins many customers. He has been in business for seventeen years and has trained a number of apprentices who have graduated. He has some apprentices who are still in training. Ussif says he wants a loan to buy a variety of materials in bulk. It is his dream to put up a house for his family and to give his children the best education possible.
