Belawu Mohammed

Belawu Mohammed is 50 years old. She is widowed and has four children. All her children are still in school. She owns and operates a grocery shop in her neighborhood where she sells items like sugar, vegetable oil, bottled water, skimmed powdered milk, and biscuits, etc. She also sells other food stuffs like tomatoes, smoked fish, dried fish, onions, pepper, etc.

It has been her dream to expand her shop by adding other food stuffs to her existing products. With the loan, she wants to purchase more crates of assorted drinks, bags of sugar, cartons of vegetable oil, boxes of biscuits, tomatoes, smoked fish, dried fish, onions, spices, groundnuts etc. to increase her inventory. She hopes to improve her savings to support her children in school. She hopes to receive GH¢900 to restock her inventory. Belawu belongs to a village bank called ‘Bamali Allah’ which means ‘It is only God who can do it’.
