Sok
Mr. Sok S., 39, and his wife, Mrs. Im Proeung, 45, live along National Road Number One about 17 kilometers from Phnom Penh. They were married in 1993 and have four children: three sons and one daughter. One of their sons is married and lives outside the family home. Their daughter is a garment-factory worker. One son is a construction worker and the youngest one attends school.

Sok has been a fisherman for 10 years, a skill he learned from his brother. He fishes from the lake nearby his house. Mrs. Im Proeng sells the fish that her husband caught at a market in Phnom Penh.

Sok is asking for his first loan of $800 to buy a motorbike to carry fish for sale and to build a fence around his house.
