H. is a local farmer on a big plot of farmland inherited from her parents which she has always harvested for customers twice a year since 2000. To help the family's income, H. also raises piglets in the pigpen behind her house.
H. is tired of hiring her neighbor's buffalo to plow her farmland. So she is looking for a loan to buy a pair of buffaloes for her plowing. She dreams of having a degree for her children.
About HKLHattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
