Jesús Roberto
Jesús Roberto D. has two daughters who he loves and wants to give the best to. With much effort and his savings he has been able to construct a room for them. It still needs a roof and to be reinforced with concrete, which is more durable and safe. But he has not been able to finish the construction and that is why he is requesting a loan to complete his daughters' bedroom, providing them with their own space in the house.

He plans to repay this loan with his earnings as chief maintenance technician at a factory. When we visited the house Jesús Roberto was at work so only his wife, San Juana Sánchez, appears in the photo.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
