Nakate Alisha Group
In this Group: Alisha, Hadijah, Resty, Margret, Ruth

Alisha is 37 years of age and married with four children. She rents a one-room house in which six people live. She does care for additional family as well. She has three meals a day and her greatest expense in a month is that of feeding her family.

She sells used shoes in the market and she works six days in a week. She normally receives about ten customers a day. She has been doing this particular type of business for eight years now. The challenge she faces is that her customers are seasonal. She mainly makes big sales during festive seasons.

She has been a member of MCDT for over five years now and chose to work with MCDT because it was easy for her to join. Most of all she wanted some capital to increase her stock and that is how she will use this loan. She also wants to construct rental apartments to improve on her income and wellbeing.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
