Rose Akyeamaa

Rose Akyeamaa is 40 years old. She is widowed with six children. The eldest is a commercial driver, one child is a hairdresser and the rest are still in junior high school. Rose is a local manufacturer of palm oil and has sold fruits like bananas and oranges for the past eight years to take care of her family. Palm oil is produced from palm nut fruit. The palm oil is processed through various stages to obtain the palm oil. Palm oil is used to prepare many local dishes. Her production is on a small scale due to lack of capital to buy machines for the processing.

In addition to the palm oil business, she also sells fruits like banana and oranges etc. in the community where she lives. She says this has also slowed down due to current food prices in the world market. She wants to use the loan to buy more palm nuts to increase her efficiency and produce in larger quantities. She wants the loan to purchase bananas and oranges etc. so that she can produce daily and supply to her customers on regular bases.

Rose believes this will help expand her business and raise more income to provide food and finance her children's education. Rose belongs to a village bank called Chance. She hopes to receive GH¢700 to make her business grow by restocking her inventory.
