Bertha Eulalia
Bertha is a member of Bancomunal Medalla Milagrosa. Bertha is from the Satipo township in Junin. She is 46-years old and has 6 children who are 30, 25, 23, 21, 19 and the 15-year old takes night classes because he is working during the day selling pacifiers.

Bertha always works her area routinely and is dedicated to selling sweets. With her job she was able to put her children through state school, but could not consider paying for higher education. In the summer mornings she sells ice cream and in the evenings she sells sweets and peanuts. She works from Monday to Sunday until 10 in the evening. It is difficult to have a business when the city collects on your merchandise and does not offer to replace it. Everything must be purchased brand new.

With this loan, Bertha would like to invest her money to purchase an ice cream shop to run this upcoming summer. She will need 2000 soles to purchase sweets, chocolate, cigarettes and gum. Bertha’s dream is to either one day own her own taxi, or have her own car to do her job. She would also like to one day own her own home.
