In the ecovillage of Mekhé (http://www.sem-fund.org/mekhe.php), poultry businesses have proved to be remunerative and useful since they contribute to the improvement of village households' diets by supplying complete protein. This is why the women of this group, who already have a chicken yard, want to use the loan, as soon as they receive it, to buy chicks and chickenfeed. It takes 45 days to raise the chicks and 20 days to have them all sold. This operation will be repeated as often as necessary over one year.
