Fati S. is a forty five years old widow and has given birth to eleven children. Unfortunately, 5 of the children have passed away. Four of her remaining children are males and two are daughters, all of whom are in school. She lives with the children in a rented apartment in Koforidua, a small town not very far from Offinso in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Fati works very hard to provide for her children. She is a farmer and trader of banana and cassava. She buys cassava and unripe banana from farmers in her locality and from the nearby villages and resells to retailers in her community local market. Fati has been in business for six years. It is Fati’s desire to save enough money to support her children in their academics. She is requesting a loan to procure banana and cassava in bulk so she can maximize her profit margin.
