Wipala Group

Crafts and home remedies are the main activities of the members of the Wipala group. Some members weave aguayos [ traditional Andean textiles to carry small children], make backpacks of aguayo and leather, guitar cases, wallets, pencil cases. Those "chifleras" of the group make amulets, products to bring good luck or attract the person or thing the customer desires. Once their products are made they sell them in the areas of Cochabamba and Santa Cruz on market days, which are Tuesdays and Fridays.

The Wipala group has been together for four years in the downtown area of Los Andes. They are a very united group and as they have been together for a long time, they have become friends with each other. Now they need to buy more of the raw materials for their businesses so that they can make more sales and generate more revenue.
La artesanía y chifelria son las principales actividades de la asociación Wipala, confeccionan tejidos de aguayo, mochilas en aguayo y cuero, estuches para guitarra, billeteras, estuches para lápices; por otro lado las denominadas chifleras, se dedican a la elaboracion de amuletos, productos para atraer la buena suerte o para atraer el y lo que pida el cliente, una vez elaborados sus productos los comercializan en los departamentos de Cochabamba y santa cruz, solo los martes y viernes en ferias.
La asociación Wipala trabaja en el centro focal Los Andes hace cuatro años. A la cabeza de Basilia C. forman un grupo muy unido ya que a lo largo del tiempo formaron una simpática amistad entre ellas. Ahora ellas necesitan comprar materia prima para ampliar su producción, de esta manera obtendrán mayores ventas y generaran mejores ganancias.
