Mr. S., 37, teaches secondary school, as well as grows rice on a farm. He is married to Mrs. Sreykhim who grows and sells vegetables. They have three teenaged children living with them at home. His wife is a strong communicator who is able to attract regular customers. He believes they have the potential to earn more money if she rents a farming machine to people in his area. Therefore, Mr. S. would like to ask for a loan to purchase a farming machine.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
