Ni Wayan Sariani
Ni Wayan Sariani wants to participate in another loan program with DINARI foundation. This loan is to be used to add her working capital in her business as Sanggah maker. Sanggah is a traditional religious article in Balinese Hinduism faith.


Her business always receives flow of orders of Sanggah every month. In some occasions she even has to reject orders as she cannot secure enough material to make Sanggah. Ni Wayan Sariani is in this business together with her husband who does most of the Sanggah making works.


One Sanggah can be sold for IDR 2 million to IDR 3 million (around USD 190 - USD 285) depending on the complexity of the wood carving works. In one month Ni Wayan and her husband can make one to two Sanggah. If she has more orders then she hires extra helps. From this business Ni Wayan can help the family's economy and they are also able to send their children to school.

Periode ini Ni Wayan Sariani kembali melanjutkan pinjaman dari yayasan DINARI. Dana tersebut dipegunakan untuk menambah modal dalam berusaha sebagai Pembuat Sanggah ( Sarana persembahyangan Umat Hindu ). Pesanan Sanggah dalam setiap bulannya tidak pernah terhenti bahkan kadang sampai menolak pesanan karena bahan baku kayu jati sulit dicari. Untuk memenuhi persediaan maka jauh hari harus membeli kayu ke penjual kayu jati karena kayu jati adalah kayu yang paling baik untuk bahan bakunya. Proses pengerjaan Sangahnya dipercayakan pada suaminya,sedang pekerjaan yang ringan ringan dikerjakan oleh Ni Wayan Sariani.

Satu paket pesanan sanggah harga bervariasi sekitar Rp.2.000.000,- s/d Rp.3.000.000,- sesuai permintaan dan tingkat kesulitan membuat ukirannya.Dalam satu bulan Ni Wayan Sariani dan suaminya dapat menyelesaikan satu sampai dua pesanan sanggah. Apabila pesanan banyak biasanya Ni wayan Sariani mempekerjakan orang lain yang sudah biasa membantunya. Dari usaha tukang inilah Ni Wayan Sariani dapat membantu suaminya dalam mencukupi keperluan keluarganya bersama seorang anaknya yang masih sekolah dasar.
