Mrs. Tania Vargas is originally from the city of León, Nicaragua, where she works in the central market selling a variety of products and basic grains. Tania has been selling goods for thirty years, which has sustained her home throughout this period.

Today, it is important to note that Tania has been a loyal Ceprodel customer, which has made 54 loans to Tania that were repaid in a timely manner. Tania is currently seeking support for her 55th loan from Ceprodel, which she will use to purchase basic grains and thus continue to improve her business.

La señora Tania Vargas es originaria de la ciudad de León donde se dedica a laborar en el mercado central vendiendo variedad de productos y granos básicos los cuales los ha venido comercializando desde hace treinta largos años y habiendo sido este el sustento de su hogar de habitación por todo este período.

Hoy en día es importante destacar que ella ha sido una fiel cliente de Ceprodel por lo que ha realizado 54 créditos habiéndolos cancelado en tiempo y forma. Hoy en día busca el apoyo en Ceprodel para obtener el préstamo número 55 el cual lo ocupará para la compra de los granos básico y de esta forma continuar en el mejoramiento de su negocio.




Important Information About This Loan
Kiva recently posted a message regarding the “No Pago” movement in Nicaragua (a movement for non-payment of loans). This movement, supported mostly by farmers of the north of Nicaragua with ties to the left-wing party in Nicaragua, has been organizing protests and had submitted a law to the government to create a moratorium on debt repayment. Initially it was unclear whether this law would pass, which would have had severe effects on the banking and microfinance industry in Nicaragua. However in the last month the executive branch rejected the law in its current form. The No Pago movement still exists but seems to have lost some steam. There is still a possibility that a law encouraging more restructuring of loans could pass next year, and microfinance institutions are voluntarily restructuring loans to delinquent borrowers, still increasing risk of lending in Nicaragua. However indications are that the situation is less dramatic than before.
