Hannah Kwakye

Hannah Kwakye is 42 years old. She is married and has given birth to four children. All are attending school in Nkawkaw in the Ashanti region of Ghana, where they stay. She is a crop farmer who produces food items such as maize and plantain. She has being farming for the past four years on five hectares of land in the village. In 2007, she was fortunately adjourned the best farmer in her town and she was given a prize. Hannah said initially it was very tough for her, until she met Sinapi, because she did not have adequate funds to buy chemicals to spray the farm. She produces in a large quantity and retails to food suppliers. She also sells at the market square during the market days.

With this loan, she wants to buy more farm supplies and employ more hands on her farm to achieve greater yields this year. In this way, she can supply to a large number of customers to increase her market size, hence, her profit margin.
