Phan P. is 37 years old lives in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia. She currently lives with four members in the family and is the mother of three children who are still in school. She runs her own farmland and grows rice crops, which she plants twice a year. Her husband Loun Chon is 37 years old and drives a taxi. All of his income provides for his family's needs. P. plans to buy a motorcycle to make his family's transportation needs easier. She is applying for a loan to purchase a motorcycle for her husband.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
