A native of Porto-Novo, the political capital of Benin, Mathias K. was born in Adjohounn on July 29, 1978. He is married to Rose Hounnou, who has given him two children, a son and a daughter. The eldest girl is in pre-school, while the youngest boy is not yet school age. Mathias is a carpenter by trade. He has his workshop in Midombo, an area on the outskirts of the city of Cotonou, where he manufactures and sells furniture of all sorts. He goes to Savè or Parakou, two towns in northern Benin, to buy wood, the primary material with which he works. The loan he is now seeking will be Mathias’ third.
