Nhoem S. is 34 years old and a resident of Pursat Province. She is a farmer who specializes in rice, vegetables as well as fruit crops in her village, growing corm trees and morning glories. Farming is her main source to earn income for her family's expenses. Generally, she will sell her production to wholesalers, 4 or 5 months after planting. To help earn additional income for her family, S. is raising pigs at her home.

S. is married with one son who is attending school. Her husband, Nou Eum, 32, also works with her. S. hopes to have two buffalo to help her plow her farmland, therefore she decided to request a loan to be able to do that. (S.'s husband is pictured because she was not available.)
