Kan's Group

Mrs. Kan P. is a group leader of four members who all live in Phum Por village in Kampong Chhnang province. She is a farmer who owns a plot of land to cultivate vegetables to earn a living. In the plantation, she faces a small problem because she does not have enough money to purchase bean seed to grow in the field. In order to deal with this problem, she decided to ask for a loan to purchase bean seeds for growing. Mrs. Kan P. is a 53-year-old widow with two children who are farmers who help on their mother's plantation.


All the members in this village bank loan have end-of-term loans so they are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. End-of-term (EoT) loans are AMK’s main product because they are the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. These allow them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make their payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s client make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and AMK has a default rate of 0% on Kiva.
