Mrs. May Annelieze D., is 42 years old, married, and blessed with 4 children. Her husband is an auditor in MHARS General hospital, Ozamiz City. As of now 2 of her children are studying in college as Nursing Student and the other 2 are elementary pupils.
Even though her husband has a permanent job, she needs extra income because of economic crisis and 2 of her children are college students. That’s why she decided to engage in Ready-to-Wear (RTW) Clothes retailing. Since her capital to her business is not sufficient she decided to join Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative because she heard from her neighbor that the cooperative is offering livelihood programs and microfinancing services.
The PMPC became a great help to her business because she was able to put up additional capital to her RTW Business. She is a member in good standing in Sampaguita Center, Dolores, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She is now requesting a loan of PHP 14,900 to purchase additional RTW clothes for sale.
Mrs. D. plans to have an additional quality stocks of RTW clothes for her business and enable her college students finish their studies.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
