Angélica María Reyes González

Ms. Angélica María Reyes has been running her small general store in the Ciudad Sandino municipality of the city of Managua for three years. She has managed to supply her shop up to the point where she now has full shelves, obtaining benefits for her family who really needs her support.

She has managed to maintain her general store thanks to support from Ceprodel via microloans. Once again, she needs a loan so that she can purchase goods to sell them in her general store, to which she is so dedicated.

En el municipio de Ciudad Sandino de la ciudad de Managua la señora Angélica María Reyes desde hace tres años inició un pequeño negocio de pulpería y hoy en día ha logrado suplirlo hasta el punto de llenar sus estantes logrando beneficios para su familia que tanto necesita de su apoyo.

Ella ha logrado mantener su pulpería gracias al apoyo que le ha brindado Ceprodel por medio de los créditos y no podemos omitir que una vez más solicita un crédito con el propósito de comprar la mercadería para continuar ofreciéndola en su negocio de pulpería al que tanto se dedica.




Important Information About This Loan
Kiva recently posted a message regarding the “No Pago” movement in Nicaragua (a movement for non-payment of loans). This movement, supported mostly by farmers of the north of Nicaragua with ties to the left-wing party in Nicaragua, has been organizing protests and had submitted a law to the government to create a moratorium on debt repayment. Initially it was unclear whether this law would pass, which would have had severe effects on the banking and microfinance industry in Nicaragua. However in the last month the executive branch rejected the law in its current form. The No Pago movement still exists but seems to have lost some steam. There is still a possibility that a law encouraging more restructuring of loans could pass next year, and microfinance institutions are voluntarily restructuring loans to delinquent borrowers, still increasing risk of lending in Nicaragua. However indications are that the situation is less dramatic than before.
