Mrs. Sok R. is 50-years old and resides in the Ptasrong Commune in Pursat Province. She is married with seven children, four of whom are students, and three are married and live away home. Her husband, Noun Thom, is 49 years old. The couple are local cultivators who have owned farmland for growing various kinds of plants like fruit trees and vegetable crops. Sok and Thom are requesting a loan to buy additional farmland. The loan will help them to increase their income and sustain their family's living expenses. (Mrs. Sok R. is pictured)
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
