Maria Carmela makes popsicles of a variety of flavors such as coconut, passion fruit and other local varieties. In addition to this business, Maria Carmela and her husband have a carpentry workshop. With the loan of 1,000 soles, Maria Carmela invested in buying wood to support her husband’s work. She is happy to report that this business is going well. Maria Carmela hasn’t been able to make popsicles for sale lately because she is also working as a janitor at a local school. Since classes are starting, this is a very busy time for her and she can only make popsicles on weekends once she’s done with all her other domestic chores. Nonetheless, as soon as things settle down at the school, Maria Carmela will be preparing and selling popsicles again.
