Jenit is married with two children and is 40 years old. She works in an insurance company and at the same time manages a general store in her village for a living. She has been in this business for five years and was able to sustain it.
She took a new loan from GDMPC to have additional capital to buy dried fish for her sari sari store. She is hoping to have her business improve to ensure better source of income for the family in the near future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
