This loan is part of a partnership between Hluvuku and iDE to bring key technical assistance to farmers in the Maputo district of Mozambique.

Under this program, farmers are offered agricultural loans alongside trainings in horticulture production, water management, irrigation, and more. In addition to this, borrowers are trained in post-harvest handling and-- through iDE’s network of Farm Business Advisers -- they are also offered access to on-the-ground support, as well as linkages to high quality inputs. The maximum loans repayment period is 18 months, with a maximum amount of $3,000.

Agriculture loans are often underfunded by traditional institutions due to the higher risk that they present when compared to smaller business loans.  By funding this loan you are playing an important role in helping Mozambican farmers to access critical support and capital that would otherwise be unavailable to them.
